Nipple Testimonials and Slaughter Falls

This week’s prenatal class started out a bit dubiously for Brian. It was about breastfeeding, which is no problem for him. But when former breastfeeders started standing up to tell everyone about how their nipples became sore, raw, cracked, etc. he began to shrink down into his seat and look for a way out. That sounded MUCH too painful for him. Why doesn’t anyone tell you about these things before it’s too late?

Of course, Carolyn didn’t seem to be in the least bit fazed by it.

After the nipple testimonials stopped the temperature in the room began to cool and the evening ended up pretty well with a video about how to tell when your newborn is communicating with you. It’ll be fun to see how the Fair One will communicate with us.

Needing a bit of a break, Brian took some time Friday to go hiking on Mt. Coot-tha to Slaughter Falls. Along the way he came across some Aboriginal rock paintings that he wanted to share with you.

One final bit of business before we close our blog this week. Célia is due to arrive on January 12, so on January 10 Brian’s mom will be arriving to see the newest Adams. Don’t feel obligated, but if you would like to send anything with her, just email her at monette49@gmail.com and she will happily work out the logistics.
